Samsung has returned to invest in the FE series of Galaxy smartphones in 2023 after a year of hiatus due essentially to the chip crisis during the pandemic. S23 FE, presented last October, has allowed the Asian company to be present in the medium-high end of the market with a product that in recent months has been quite successful among the public. And now that the Galaxy S24 series is already on the market, rumors about its FE variant are starting to circulate.
Galaxy S24 FE is described by leaker @OreXda as a smartphone similar to the base model but, as usual for the Galaxy FE series, with slightly inferior technical and aesthetic characteristics. From the Galaxy S23 FE’s Exynos 2200 we would move to the Exynos 2400, the same as the Galaxy S24 and S24+, while the Korean version should be based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The display will be AMOLED, presumably 6.1 inches (but the leaker is not sure of this figure, it would be a major reduction compared to the 6.4″ of the Galaxy S23 FE). Under the shell, Samsung would have opted for 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage (but the 128GB cut is expected to have UFS 3.1 storage). As for the battery, we are talking about 4,500mAh, in line with the predecessor and higher than the 4,000mAh of the Galaxy S24.
No information, finally, on the photographic sector: Galaxy S23 FE, remember, has a 10MP front cam and three 50+12+8MP rear cams (main + ultra-wide-angle + tele). Last year the presentation was held in the fall, we will see if the same timing will be maintained in 2024 as well.
